The winners of the 2023-2024 undergraduate awards were announced at the annual celebration, held this year on the evening of January 23.
Presiding over the award ceremony was Undergraduate Director & Associate Chair Rebecca Kingston. Don Boye, FAS Acting Vice-Dean, Undergraduate, attended as did Chair Louis Pauly, donor and Professor Ron Deibert, political science faculty and staff, and guests of the award winners.
Professor Boye was delighted to be taking part in recognizing the talented undergraduate students who have received awards for the 2023/2024 academic year saying: “This event is a celebration of your hard work, tenacity and creativity. On behalf of the Dean’s office, Arts and Science, congratulations on your accomplishments. I hope these awards encourage you not only to persevere in your studies but to challenge perspectives and inspire change. To the family members and friends here today, thank you for your support; we know that behind every successful student, there’s a network of help and encouragement. I'd also like to acknowledge the donors whose generosity make these awards and scholarships possible. Their support enables these dedicated students to focus on their education by reducing the burden of financial stress. Congratulations!”
Chair Louis Pauly added: “I love this celebration. This is the best meeting of the year as far as I'm concerned. We’ve got lots of good students at the University of Toronto and we've got very good students in political science, but we are now honoring the best students. We're very proud of you, so take this moment to celebrate your achievements.”
Professor Kingston thanked the undergraduate awards committee which includes Connor Ewing, Andrew McDougall, Madison Schramm, and Elizabeth Jagdeo, who also organizes the annual event.
