Alumna Lahoma Thomas receives Early Career Researcher First Book Prize

Congratulations to alumna Lahoma Thomas who is among the recipients, and the sole Canadian, of the 2025 Early Career Researcher First Book Prize from Oxford University Press. Ph.D. student Zack Taylor has been selected as a Stone Scholar for the Urban Politics Section at the American Political Science Association annual meeting. Last year the Urban Politics section initiated the Stone Scholar Award and dinner as a way to bring together senior scholars from the section with promising junior colleagues.

Dr Cochrane has a Ph.D. in political science from U of T, a Master’s degree in political science from McGill, and a Bachelor’s degree in political science and history from St. Thomas University in Fredericton, NB.

Jennifer Wallner wins Deil Wright Best Paper Award

The Deil Wright Best Paper Award is presented to the author of the best paper on federalism and intergovernmental relations. Dr. Wallner won for her paper “Does Diversity Always Lead to Decentralization and Difference?”. She recieved her Ph.D. from the Department of Political Science in 2009.
