Oded Oron

Oded Oron is an Assistant Professor (Teaching Stream) in Political Science. He specializes on Forced Migration and Social Movements and completed research on African migrants mobilizing in Israel as well as undocumented migrant movements in the United States. In Israel Oded worked in the Israeli media in leading outlets like YNET News and Ha’aretz, and as a Senior Manager for Israel’s Government Press Office. Prior to moving to Toronto, he worked as the Assistant Director of Cornell Hillel and currently serves as the Manager of Data, Research, and Evaluations at JIAS Toronto – a settlement agency supporting newcomers. In 2021 he completed his certification as a regulated Immigration Consultant in Canada.
