Biography
Mark Nieman is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, with a joint appointment in the Department of Political Science and Trinity College. His academic interests are in international relations and political methodology. His substantive research focuses on the political economy of political order and major power competition, while his methodological work develops statistical techniques to account for strategic and temporal sources of non-independence across observations. His research has been supported by the National Science Foundation, he is co-author of Rising Powers and Foreign Policy Revisionism: Understanding BRICS Identity and Behavior through Time (University of Michigan Press), and his research has been published in the American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Politics, and Political Analysis, among other venues.
